Acid Reflux?
March 8th, 2010 | by admin |Bob R. asked:
So I think I had a case of Acid Reflux today; I felt like there was some sort of acid in the back of my throat, and now it feels like there’s something ‘caught’ in my throat, which I read were all symptoms of acid reflux. I’m a teenager, and this is my first time ever experiencing this. I’ve never had problems like this before, and I was just wondering if this kind of thing can happen randomly just once, or does it continue on forever?

Everyone experiences it at one time or another. It could have been something you ate or a number of causes. Just one time isn’t anything to worry about.

Generally it is to be expected. If it becomes persistent, you need to see a doctor.
Recurrent acid reflux in a youg person is usually because either you are not taking in enough clear water or too much spice and fat in the diet. The next big cause is a bacteria called H-Pylori that attacks the stomach lining. If you are getting enough clear water in your daily diet, and it reccurs, your doctor can have a simple blood test done for the bacteria and is it easily treatable. Chronic acid reflux and/or indigestion is almost never stress related in a younger person, and is 87.3% H-pylori according to the latest studies.
