Acid Reflux?

I have acid reflux and my doctor told me that it is caused by some kind of bacteria. He also said that this type of cause if very common and that I should go to visit him again soon to check if it’s still there. If the test is negative and there is no more bacteria in my stomach, will that mean that I won’t have acid reflux anymore? Thanks for whoever answers :p
